School of Communication and Media

Student Projects

This annual multimedia project is produced by undergraduate students in Professor Thomas E. Franklin’s Multimedia News Production class in the School of Communication and Media, at Montclair State University. This year's projects address many important issues making news, such as: legalized sports gambling in New Jersey, heightened marijuana use as NJ moves closer to legalization, body image acceptance, the lasting legacy of clergy abuse in the Catholic Church, gentrification, a changing Cuban community enclave, how various digital addictions are affecting young people today, and much more. Each project includes revealing stories and photographs, rich video storytelling, and informative data visualization. All work in this multimedia collection is student produced, and came together in the Fall 2018 semester in the TVDM441 course.
